Pink and Blue

Very comfortable in the barn this morning.  Too bad the stalls were such a wreck with all the pee spots.

I decided to close them off during the day and will open them at night.  Put a couple flakes of hay in the run-in area as they were going to be spending a lot of time there once it warmed up.

By the time I was finished, a couple of guys were working on the native plant garden out front.  Quite a relief for Gary, to have some help.
Made a quick trip to Wegmans and stopped at Country Max for a new rake (for the barn).
Tried to take a few more photos that are being used to advertise the Garden tour.  So far they have put out 2 posts and they look great.
It's a jungle out there.
The front of the house never looked so good.

I sure hope some of this stuff is blooming by the 19th!

As per usual, Little Wonder set himself up near the window air conditioner.
A few years ago Stephanie got us this Chaise and it's always been out by the Studio.  Today I set it up on the porch off the kitchen and Gary now has a place for serious naps.
We split a sub for lunch (Wegmans) and were not hungry at dinner time.
Went out to do chores around 8.

Opened up the stalls for the night and picked half a wheel barrow of manure up from the run-in, where Rebel and Buddy must have spent the day.  By the time I finished, the sky was gorgeous.

Gary grilled us each a burger and some corn for dinner (which we did not eat until after 8:30).  Simple.
Night all.

PS
So what do you think is going to happen in the House?
I'm sure T is doing his best to threaten the holdouts.

Rebel's Window

Not as hot as yesterday, but very muggy right off the bat.

Rebel was watching for me in his own stall this morning and Buddy was in the barn too.

They did go out to the pasture for awhile and I was able to clean their stalls.

Alice came a little after ten for Spa day.  The horses were hiding in the barn and this time Buddy stuck his head out the window.

We bribed them with carrots and they came over to the grooming room.

Rebel seemed different...at half mast.  I think the humidity was really getting to him and I even took his temperature (which was ok).  He was good about me picking his feet...wondered if they were bothering him.  They really needed a good grooming today as they had been rained on and rolled in the indoor.

I took it easy for awhile and from two to four, mowed the lawn.

Gary continued working on the gardens when he got home from lunch with the guys.  We had a gigantic hibiscus blossom today.
Dinner....leftover cauliflower casserole and a salad.  We are vegged out.
Chores at 7:30.
They were ready.  Now, if I could only get them to eat their hay outside when it's warm.

Once I finished tucking them in, I got on the John Deere and went behind the back pasture
to pick some wild black cherries.  Small, but so good.

Little Wonder is always next to me when I am doing this.  Trying to catch some of the fan.
Night all.

PS.
Jen sent me two photos from the party we went to on Saturday.  You already know Scott.
This is Miles.  He and Jenny grew up together and even went to the same college (Fredonia).  Can't believe he has retired after teaching for 33 years.
PSS.
About Lisa M. (Miss Alaska)!  She really blew it today and millions of people are going to hate her for not voting against the Horrific Bill.  Can you believe the impact this will have?  Sold her soul or they had a gun to her head.  What she had to say after the vote was nothing more than a pile of crap.  Let's see what happens back in the House.  I hope that it's true....that 14 Repubs said they will not vote for the bill.  The people whose lives are going to drastically change will never forgive this collection of heartless a$$h...s.  What is this going to do to us?
